A quick look at projects, and lessons that shaped Solid Growth.
My growth journey began at Blue Canal where we built 19 affiliate sites in insurance. We made learning about Google Ads fun by labelling every Google advert we wrote and competing to see whose copy would win. Losing 2 crates of beer to my co-founder pushed me to master copywriting, SEO and paid advertising. The portfolio grew into a key source of insurance traffic and we sold it to an insurance company in 2017.
I co-founded an e-commerce holding for a media group and guided growth for seven Lightspeed stores. While completing a seven-month CXL conversion traineeship I applied paid-media, A/B-testing and cross-sell tactics across the portfolio. Revenue rose across all shops and we sold our stake to the group’s majority shareholder.
After Monobrands, I joined CoverYou Smartphone Insurance as Partner and Head of Growth. I built long-tail landing pages for every current and upcoming phone model, balanced SEO with precise paid campaigns and introduced testing and retention flows. Customer acquisition costs fell, lifetime value improved and a German insurer acquired the business, including my stake.
When the Talent Institute launched in 2015 I co-created its first beta training. In 2016 I became a permanent trainer, delivering full-day workshops on growth strategy and the first 100 days as a growth hacker. Across ten years I have taught every cohort, refining my framework through their questions and sharing my enthusiasm for continuous learning.
The chief digital officer at Sanoma Group asked me to embed data-driven decision making after working with him in the Innovation Lab. We decided to to start with A/B testing for , one of the Netherlands’ five largest websites.
I created an optimisation roadmap, carried out customer research and launched the site’s first A/B tests. Early gains prompted leadership to establish an internal experimentation agency that still guides data-driven decisions and experimentation at Sanoma (now DPG).
Since 2018 I have served on the Decathlon Netherlands e-commerce advisory board, providing quarterly guidance on growth. Seeing the team expand rapidly during Covid was exhilarating and I am proud to have played a role.
The project also tested my growth framework at enterprise scale and confirmed that it works for larger organisations. Over the years I have watched revenue rise and the team’s capability strengthen as data-driven experimentation became part of their culture.
At Polaris Growth, a Klaviyo-focused e-commerce agency, I directed client strategy and grew the team to 11 specialists.
I built inbound content, led sales, and ensured client roadmaps combined email, paid advertising and conversion optimisation.
When my focus shifted to holistic growth and my co-founder chose Klaviyo specialisation he bought my shares, allowing both our paths to thrive.
I co-founded Replicable and served as shareholder and strategic advisor.
My focus was building the inbound funnel and lead-generation engine that helped the company become one of only two Premium agencies in the Netherlands.
After guiding early growth I sold my equity to my co-founder so I could devote full energy to Solid Growth.
